Life
With life so hard and pain so sweet,
Why am I here this lonely bard.
To sit and sing my life away,
All for merely crumbs a day
With life so hard and victory sweet,
And all my subjects beneath my feet.
The pain and sorrow that I have seen,
Everyone must think that I am mean.
For us not to weep and not to care,
You soon shall see that all is not fare.
With some so high and some so low,
Oh to wonder what we know.
For what we know should not have been,
And what we know should not have been seen.
For if all should be justified,
There are those who should not have died.
